One of my favorite parts of training Lifestyle Coach to deliver the National Diabetes Prevention Program is hearing all the creative ways they share to overcome challenges.  Today we heard a great idea to help a person remember to drink enough water throughout the day.

Each morning she puts 8 rubber bands on her water glass.  Each time she finishes the glass of water, she takes one of the rubber bands off and slips it onto her wrist.  By the end of the day, if the glass has no rubber bands and she has 8 bands on her wrist, she knows that she has achieved her goal of eight, eight ounce glasses of water.

For those who prefer apps…

we’ve heard great things about Plant Nanny.  It reminds you to keep up your water intake.  If your plant is thirsty it will wilt.  A fun way to keep you had your cute little plant happy and healthy.

State of Wellness is one of nine organizations which have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to train Lifestyle Coaches to deliver the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
